The first Patronal Festival Evensong at Taunton Minster was warmly received, marking a strong end to the choir’s summer term. Alongside this, the choir also supported Muchelney Church’s Patronal Evensong, offering valued musical help where no regular choir is in place.

Grant funding made a clear difference, supporting refreshments, rehearsal tea and cake, publicity and essential practicalities. This ensured a well-prepared and uplifting service that was enjoyed by both congregation and choir. The initiative strengthened local celebration of the festival and illustrated how external support can help churches mark significant occasions with fitting music and wider community involvement.
