St Peter’s held a well-attended Patronal Choral Evensong, drawing a congregation of around forty-five despite several regulars being away. The bells were rung for the first time since Christmas, and the service was led by the Rector, with the Bruton Choir and organist providing strong musical support. The programme included hymns such as Thou art the Christ, Ye watchers and ye holy ones and Angel voices ever singing, alongside the Magnificat, Nunc dimittis, the Lesser Litany, Suffrages and an anthem.

Grant support helped the church offer refreshments afterwards, where drinks and canapés encouraged relaxed conversation in the grounds. The service succeeded in bringing the community together and added warmly to the parish’s annual cycle of events.
