The Patronal Evensong at St Petrock’s was an outstanding success, remarkable in both scale and impact. Around one hundred people attended, far surpassing the usual congregation of twenty, with many visitors drawn from outside the parish by the quality of the music. Professional singers brought real distinction to the service, and feedback from villagers and guests alike was exceptionally positive.

The grant played a vital role in enabling the occasion, supporting the music and the celebratory reception that followed. Prosecco and canapés helped create a warm, festive atmosphere, and the collection reached an impressive £340 before gift aid. The day formed part of a wider village celebration with a barbecue, licensed bar and family activities, giving the festival a strong communal feel.

The event has renewed enthusiasm for Choral Evensong in Timberscombe, and there is a firm intention to make it a focal point of future Patronal festivals. Efforts will now be made to secure additional sponsorship so that professional singers of similar calibre can be welcomed again. The parish offers sincere thanks for the support that made this memorable celebration possible.
