St Denys, Goadby Marwood
Patron saint: St Denys

Festival date: 20 September

St Denys celebrated its Patronal and Harvest Festival with a joyful Choral Evensong that brought together church, school and village. Children from the local primary school created butterfly decorations, while parishioners contributed flowers. Earlier in the day, an Open Church and Ploughman’s Lunch showcased local produce and baking.

In the evening, St Wulfram’s Choir from Grantham provided superb music that made a strong impact on the many newcomers present, some of whom had never been inside the church before. Several commented afterwards that they hoped to visit St Wulfram’s to experience Evensong again.

The festival was also financially successful, raising £490 for the church. The choir received £428, supported by the grant and the retiring collection. The result was a beautifully decorated church, a community gathered in fellowship and music of striking quality leading the worship.
