Bolton Parish Church marked St Peter’s Day with a vibrant Patronal Evensong featuring Stanford’s Psalm 150, Parry’s Evening Service in D and Handel’s Zadok the Priest, accompanied by the organ scholar, Logan Ferris. The music was sung with real energy and greatly enjoyed by both choir and congregation.

A picnic before the service offered a chance to thank the choir for their work over the year and to farewell departing scholars. The grant helped fund both the picnic and the Parry setting, which proved so successful that it was later taken on the choir’s tour to Birmingham Cathedral. The parish expressed warm thanks for the support that enabled such a joyful celebration.
