Bartlemas Chapel
Patron saint: St Bartholomew

Festival date: 24 August

Bartlemas Chapel’s Patronal Service continued its steady growth this year, with attendance rising from nineteen to thirty-five in the chapel’s historic and intimate setting. The service carried a strong sense of reverence and gratitude, and highlighted the deep affection that many hold for this ancient place of worship.

The grant has not only supported the continuation of annual Patronal worship but also given the chapel confidence to plan more ambitious events. With the nine-hundredth anniversary approaching in 2026, preparations are underway for a three day festival of art, music, exhibition and shared hospitality, aiming to broaden participation and celebrate both heritage and ongoing ministry.

The parish expressed sincere thanks for the encouragement that has enabled Bartlemas to grow as a centre of prayer, welcome and community engagement ahead of this landmark anniversary.
