Allerton Church transformed its Patronal celebration this year by replacing the usual small Sunday morning service with a Choral Evensong sung by the Wells Cathedral Chamber Choir under Carolyn Craig. Around sixty people attended and were treated to outstanding liturgical music, including sung responses, psalm and canticles, an anthem, and three well chosen hymns. Preb Richard Neill preached an encouraging sermon on the continuity of worship across generations.

Thanks to the grant, generous hospitality followed and created a lively atmosphere in which choir and congregation mingled with real warmth. Feedback was enthusiastic, with visitors praising both the music and the welcome, and choir members expressing interest in returning for future services or concerts. The parish conveyed heartfelt thanks for making such a joyful and spiritually uplifting Patronal Festival possible.
